Super Saturday!

Hi everyone....Sarah here. Today I am sharing with you a terrific Kreaxions punch that I use on pretty much any and all layouts where a flower is included...and if you know my work then you know that is just about all of them! I am talking about this leaf punch (Kreaxions Punch #602 Leaf)

 

Here is how I like to use this little but very effective punch. I love to just randomly punch out the little leaves from my bits and scraps when my layout is finished. I will end up with leaf punches in different shades of colors and patterns (which I think makes them more interesting and realistic), and then I place them along side the flowers on my layout just like this

 
 
 

I enjoy using the punch so much that it has a permanent place on my scrapbook desk along side all of my favorite go-to items. I hope that you'll also give this little leaf punch a try and add the perfect finishing touch to your scrapbook layouts, cards, and altered items!

Perfect Page Accents

Happy New Years Eve!! Sarah here to share with you one of my favorite ways to use many of the Kreaxions punches. I can't stand to let all of those beautifully printed pattern papers go to waste, so I actually have a basket of scraps sitting on my desk that I can dive into whenever I need. My favorite way to use up my scraps is by creating punched shapes out of them and using the punched shapes as accents and embellishments on my scrapbook pages and cards. Here are a few examples with close-ups of how I've used my scraps along with Kreaxions punches to add just the perfect finishing touches to my work.

 
 
 
On this layout I used Kreaxions punch #602 Leaf along with scraps of dark green cardstock to create little leaves that perfectly accent the cut out flowers.

 
 
 
On this layout, I used the Butterfly 4-in-1 punch to create the punched border just under the title and then saved the tiny butterflies that get punched away for accents to go along with the Kreaxions punch #604 Butterfly that I used along the left side of the photos.

 
 
On my third layout, I also used the Kreaxions #604 Butterfly punch to add an accent to the top of the white circular lattice punches. These butterflies were all punched out of scrap paper also.

Accordian Flower Tutorial

Happy Holidays everyone...Sarah here. Today I'm really excited to share with you a tutorial on how to create accordian flowers for your craft projects using the Kreaxions circle cutter and a Kreaxions punch of your choice.

1. Use your circle cutter and simply set it to the size of your choice, this will be the base of your flower. Cut a 12" long strip of coordinating paper half the width of the size you would like your flower to be....for example, if you would like to create a 4" wide flower then cut the strip of paper 12" long by 2" wide. 

2. Punch along one edge of your strip of paper with the Kreaxions punch of your choice.

 

3. Fold your punched strip of paper back and forth in an accordian style until the entire strip of paper has been folded...I fold mine into pleats about 1/4" of an inch wide. TIP: The width of each pleat will be how far this flower sticks out from your project so if you like scrapbook pages/cards/altered art that tends to be more flat then make your pleats thinner, if you like chunky embellishments then you can make them as wide as mine.

 

4. Add adhesive to each end of the folded strip and attach ends together. Once the ends have been attached you can adhere the accordian flower to the circle base you created with your Kreaxions circle cutter. TIP: I like to sit a slightly heavy object (like my punch) on top of the accordian flower for a minute or two while the adhesive is drying to help it stay in place.

 

5. Add a decorative embellishment to the center of your accordian flower to give it a more finished look. You can use products such as: brads, buttons, twine, ribbon, flowers, pearls, etc.

Moving On!

Wow! Halloween and October wrapped up pretty quickly didn't they? And you know what that means--just a few weeks until Thanksgiving! I don't do a mass mailing of Thanksgiving cards, but there are some family members and friends that I want to send a special card to let them know how thankful I am for them. So here is one idea for a quick Thanksgiving card using Punch 303 to make the top and bottom borders. Then I punched a few cardstock leaves with Punch 602 and added them around the greeting.

Terrifically Thrilling Thursday

Hi, Bev here....After reaching Florida safely....I had no internet until yesterday.... my scrappy corner needed to be organized..... so it was perfect time to work on smaller card projects.... just in time for posting and sharing with you today. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did making them.

 
This bright fun card was made using Kreaxions Punch #906 from the inside circle and positional pieces. I used a copic coloured digi image, ribbon and some stickles.

 

This Anniversary card started with one of my copic coloured digi image, an inked doiley, a fabulous Kreaxions Punch #306 doubled sided border edge with no insert, corners punched with insert C.... added some doodling lines and a sticker sentiment.

 
This Christmas copic coloured digi image is one of my images. I added a double sided border using Kreaxions Punch #902 using insert A and backing it for colour. The circle with scallop accent is trimmed with leaf Kreaxions Punch #602.

Terrifically Thrilling Thursday

Well it's Terrically Thrilling Thursday with Bev. I had so much fun with punches and

making cards that I have a few things to share with you.

On this adorable card I used varigated cardboard,

inked it and applied to background.

I then used Martha Stewart fringe scissors for the border.

I drew freehand apple and then cut the apple out with a bit out.

The stem is made with Kreaxions Leaf Punch #602.

Then the adorable button worm... isn't he cute?

In a card making swap to celebrate World Card Making Day..

the above was in my package... bold bright fun colours.

I used the Kreaxions Punch # 901 (one of my fav)

on the circle (Kreaxions circle cutter of course) and backed it so the butterflies pop.

Added a touch of ribbon, metal and some bling.. and all finished.

Last weeks layout with this colour theme had some scraps left so

here is the card made using them. I thought  a real photo in this

fabulous frame cut with the Kreaxions Punch #901 on the inside

circle would be perfect. I added a touch of lace, stickled butterflies from

Kreaxions Punch # 604 and some dew drops.

 
This cute flower pot was accented with the border

Kreaxions Punch #306, ribbon and some dew drops.

The flowers are mounted on the top of a tag which slips in and out

of the flower pop with sentiment on it.

This is a great idea for mounting a gift card onto the tag

 and popping it into the flower pot.

For xmas you could put poinsettas in the flower pot with a gift card.
