Hi Everyone,
It's Barbara with another one of my Sunday Inspirations posts. I know it's Easter today but since your Easter cards are done and sent, I wanted to focus on the next upcoming holiday which is Mother's Day. Do you believe it, it's 2 weeks from today, May 8. So my inspiration in today's post will help you in making a great Mother's Day card.
I started with 6"X6" card and decided I wanted to make decorative corners ,so,I used punch 920 and insert C. That insert removes the square corners from the card butleaves the corners decorated with the punch design.(The card stock I used looks slightly like a watercolor/distressed sheet of paper. It's from SEI.)
Next, I decided to add some decorative embellishments. I made them using the same punch I used on the corners.
I started with a 1 1/2"square, punched the square on all 4 sides using the same insert, added dimensional foam to the back and adhered the decorative squares to the card front. I covered the exposed adhesive in the center of the square with glitter.
Next I added the die cut banner at the bottom under the dress. I hand wrote the sentiment. (I looked for a Happy Mother's Day sentiment in all the stamps that are in my stash and I found that I have none. I am sure it's because I lost my mom before I started stamping.)
Oh, the dress!! Let talk about this fabulous dress. It's a stamp from My Sentiments Exactly and the words on the dress are from the song, "I Feel Pretty". I stamped it in black die ink, trimmed the image out and added a pink ribbon to be used as a sash and I also added ribbon to the bottom of the dress. That hanger was made by using a thin black wire. And, finally, I used dimensional foam to attach the dress. And now the card is complete.
I hope you found these ideas, things that you can incorporate in your next card or project. Look at the punches at the Just Imagine Crafts website for more great styles that you can use on your project.I will be back in 2 weeks with my next post. In the meantime, stop back tomorrow to see what other ideas we have in store for you.
Thanks,
Barbara
