Just Imagine Crafts - Kreaxions Punches

A punched doily

I know that the Thanksgiving celebration for this year is already past but I wanted to share a little technique with you that adds so much to a project.

I created a little tag with a vintage Thanksgiving themed image that I got free at The Graphic Fairy.  Behind that image though is a punched doily.  This is so easy to create with my #903 4-in-1 Kreaxions punch and I love the elegance that it adds.

I just cut a circle with my Kreaxions circle cutter.  Next I turned that circle over and on the back drew lines to divide my circle evenly, like cutting a pie.  At the end of each line, I used my punch.  I punched 8 times and ended up with the prettiest doily piece.

Mix and Match

I lifted this layout from one done by Lisa VanderVeen and published in Scrapbook Retailer  October/November 2007.  I just loved the beautiful design of the page!  The sweet picture really drew me in as well.  So when I saw this picture of my daughter and my oldest grandson I just knew I wanted to lift this!

Materials – Cardstock – Bazzill; Patterned Papers – My Mind’s Eye, Theresa Collins, Anna Griffin; Punches – Kreaxions #312 and Kreaxions #914; Circle Cutter – Kreaxions; Heart Shapes – Creative Memories; Letter Stamps – Autumn Leaves, CTMH; Stamps – Creative Imaginations; Crystal Lacquer; Rhinestones – Queen & Company; Stickles – Ranger; Glitter – Glitter Arts; Inks – CTMH; Pens – Sharpie, Micron

I used a mixture of Kreaxions #312 (the snowflake) and Kreaxions #914 (Holly) (Did you see there's a SPECIAL on these two punches???!!!) all over the page.  Using the templates again gives you different looks.  In playing with my punches I thought “I wonder if I can mix and match them next to each other…..”  I played around with a scrap piece of paper and came up with a pattern that I liked!  If you’ll notice there’s mixes and matches all over the page – opposite corners on the photo… on the name piece, in the middle on the blue patterned paper…  It was fun to see how many places I could add that little touch! 

Once I had my layout put together the punched shapes weren’t popping like I wanted them to.  So I added some Stickles and some fine glitter by Glitter Arts and now my shapes are shining!  Here's some close ups -

Hi everyone! Wendy here and I'm back with a card that I made using the Punch #305 and the Kreaxion Circle Cutter. 

Supplies Used:

• Kreaxions Punch 305
• Kreaxions Circle Cutter
• Basic Grey paper and stickers
• clear plastic from recyling 

Instructions:

1. Punch border using Kreaxion punch 305.
2. Adhere punched border to cardstock. Adhere to card. 
3. Machine stitch pattern paper and adhere to card. 
4. Cut three circles from clear packaging. Heat with heat gun to warp. Be sure to have proper ventilation. Add brad to center of circles. Add white paint to edges.
5. Embellish card with alphabet stickers, ribbon and plastic flower.

Just Flying By....

Good morning, Steph here.

I know that Halloween has passed, but I couldn't resist showing off this card.  I used the Circle Cutter to create the 2 sizes of circles under the witch.  This little tool has so much potential, takes up so little space and is one of the easiest tools to grab when you need a quick circle or two.

Happy Black Friday

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! For everyone who went black friday shopping I hope you got what you wanted. For my card today I used Punch 311 to make a simple Thanksgiving card. I decided to go with a bit of an unconventional color scheme but I love the way Punch 311 goes with the Stella Rose collections.One way I like to draw attention to the beautiful patterns of the punches is to add gems or glitter.

Terrifically Thrilling Thursday and a Christmas Card

Hi hope your having a great day this Thursday. Can't believe we're over half through November and Christmas is getting so close. Hope you started your xmas cards. I thought I'd share an easy one with you today. Using the Kreaxions Punch #312 with insert A I punched LOTS and LOTS of the little snowflakes (lots of them). I then drew a pencil circle on the black background .. Of course using the lead pencil in my Kreaxions Circle Cutter.. then gluing all the small pieces individually I started layering them around the pencil circle line in a single row first. I then added 2 more rounds spacing them for a wider wreath. Some I put the silver side up and some the white side up giving it a 2 tone look. For the sentiment I found a vellum sticker for the centre of the wreath. In the up close photo you can see the layers in more detail and the cute 3D sticker accent. Sure glad to see you today. For all those celebrating today.. have a safe and happy holiday.

Something Cheerful for Mom

It's been such a gloomy week weather wise here I decided I needed to work on something bright and cheerful! I like making cards ahead of time so I'm not scrambling last minute for one, so I made a Mother's Day card for my Mom and it's got nice, bright and cheerful colors in it to brighten my day (and hers too when Mother's Day comes around!!).

I used two punches to make the rows of flowers on the top tag - the base flower is made from the 603 Lotus punch and the centers of the flowers are actually the punched leftover from the 4 in 1 902 Daisy punch. I just used the little leftover daisies which were punched from the glitter paper available here.

To make the repetitive punches of the flowers so so much easier, I used the Punch Mate tool. It was the first time I used that tool and it was so easy to use and made punching several of the same shapes so very quick! 4 in ONE!

This is a picture of our first fruits produced last year. Living in South Florida means we have opposite growing seasons from most of the country so our harvest time is in the spring. My husband and I planted a mango tree the first year we lived in this house. Ten years later it is HUGE and is producing the most delicious mangoes you’ve ever tasted! So that inspired him to grow more things. Two years ago my husband cut the top off a store-bought pineapple and stuck it in the ground “Just to see what will happen.” Within a year we had a huge gorgeous plant and we were quite happy. About 2 years into its growth we noticed a tiny little pineapple! It took almost a full year to grow to full size and this is the result! It was DELICIOUS!

So when I decided to do the layout using this picture I wanted simple elements to show off the fruits of my husband’s labors. Kreaxions 4-in-1 punches are perfect for those simple additions to your layout! I determined that I wanted to use all four of the variations of Punch #915 Verdure on this page. I used the punch without a template on the title block. Template A is the border in the middle. Template B is on all four corners of the layout. And I used Template C on the corners of the photo mat. That’s the beauty of the Kreaxions 4-in-1 punches – with the price of one punch you get FOUR different looks! In these days of economic crisis, that’s a big plus!

Decorative Organization

Hi everyone! Its Wendy and I'm back with a project I created to organize my stamping ink colors. I found as I was working on a stamping project this week that I was taking more time to test out ink colors than actual stamping. With a few stickers, machine stitching and cute Kreaxions Lotus punched out of cork, organization can be as cute as your projects! 

Instructions:

1. Using a word processing program, type out your ink color names. Trim. 

2. Stamp each color ink under name using a line stamp. 

3. Trim kraft cardstock to 2 x 4 inches. Adhere ink colors to tag. Add machine stitching. 

4. Decorate cover with stickers, Lotus #603 Kreaxions punch from cork, brad and machine stitching. 

5. Braid twine and bind tags with twine.
